Garbage Pick-up

Pick-up is on Saturdays. Cans or well-tied bags should be at the curb by 6:00 a.m.. Garbage tags are available individually or by the sheet at the village hall (844-8301). If the week contains a national holiday (Monday – Friday), pick-up is one day later than usual.  Saturday pick-up remains the same.

Special Trash Pick-ups

Every summer the village has three special pick-ups: one for furniture, one for metal, and one for brush (see calendar).

Recycling

Pick-up is every other Friday. Containers should be at the curb by 6:00 a.m.. Tompkins County Recycling mails out a schedule of exact dates every year (also at http://www.recycletompkins.org/). For dates and hours when people may drop off hazardous materials and electronics at the recycling center (in Ithaca), go to the Web page above and then click on “Recycling.”

Municipal Sewer

Sewer bills are mailed out twice a year. Payment can be mailed to the village clerk or dropped off at the village hall.

Village Newsletter

Our bi-annual village newsletter keeps people current on coming events, changes in village personnel, etc. It usually is mailed out with the sewer bills.

Christmas Tree Disposal

Village residents may dispose of their Christmas trees by dropping them off at the Village Barn on DPW Drive (see map). All decorations should be removed first.

Polling Places

During national and state elections, the W. B. Strong Firehouse (see map) is the polling place for Election District 2 (districts are identified on the notification cards sent to voters). Voting for village elections takes place in the justice’s courtroom in the village hall (notification cards are not sent out for these elections).
